What to Bring for Gorilla Tracking/Essential Gorilla Trekking Gear
Good walking boots preferably waterproof, wet weather clothing and warm layers for the evenings – it gets cold and damp at this altitude. The sun is still fierce during the day – even when overcast – so be sure to still wear sunscreen and a sun hat. You may also want to bring waterproof bags to protect cameras and other equipment when hiking. Water and snacks will be provided.

Detailed Itinerary of 3 Days Bwindi Gorilla Trekking Safari

Day 1: Transfer from Kampala for Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
On this 1st day of your 3 Days Bwindi Gorilla Trekking Safari after an early breakfast, you shall be picked up by our safari driver guide. He shall brief you about your 3 Days Bwindi Gorilla Trekking Safari and then proceed for a transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. We make a stop at the Equator in Kayabwe to allow time for photographs and a polar water experiment.

During the drive, you will see long-horned Ankole cattle, the rolling hills and terraced landscapes of the region, and beautiful panoramas that are part of the Kabale District. We have a lunch break en-route at Igongo Country Hotel. After, proceed with your transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, arriving in the late evening and check in at your lodge.

Day 2: Gorilla tracking
Mountain Gorillas Uganda Arise early in the morning, have breakfast and then drive to the park headquarters where they will brief you about how to track the Gorillas before you embark on your gorilla trekking adventure. Note that you have to be physically fit to undertake this activity and one is given one hour to interact with the primates. You will be led by the park rangers through the forest in a bid to see the great apes.

On your way during gorilla trekking in Bwindi, you will might see other primates through the thick forest like the red-tailed monkeys, black and white colobus monkeys, baboons and various bird species which include the African green broadbill, White-tailed blue flycatcher, Brown-necked parrot, White-bellied Robin-chat and among others. This gorilla trekking adventure activity may take half a day or a full day depending on the location of the gorilla group and the terrain. After the gorilla trekking adventure, return to the lodge for relaxation.

Day 3: Transfer back to Kampala
On this last day of your 3 Days Bwindi Gorilla Trekking Safari, you shall have breakfast at the lodge and then proceed to check out. You shall then proceed for a transfer back to Kampala having lunch en route. Our driver guide will drop you at your hotel or airport if you have a late evening outbound flight.

Note on accommodation
Depending on the location gorilla family you track, you will stay at Gorilla Forest Camp (Luxury) or Silverback Lodge (Mid-range) in Buhoma. In the southern sector of Bwindi, you will stay at Clouds Mountain Gorilla Lodge (Luxury) or at Rushaga Gorilla camp (Mid-range). This itinerary is based on a trip to Buhoma but can be adjusted according to the location of the gorilla family to be tracked.
