Overview
23 Days Albertine Rift and Central Uganda Birding TourThe Albertine Rift or Africa’s Western Rift Valley is one of the most bio diverse regions of the African continent. With more than half of Africa’s birds, 40% of Africa’s mammals and about 20% of its amphibians and plants, it contains more vertebrate species than anywhere else on the continent. It also conserves more threatened and endemic species than any other region of Africa, and as a result is a Biodiversity Hotspot, a Global 200 Eco region and an Endemic Bird Area.

This 23 day birding tour explores key birding spots in the Albertine rift. It starts from Lake Mburo which is Uganda’s smallest savanna parks and famous for the African Finfoot and traverses the Kigezi highlands of Bwindi impenetrable for the Specials in Ruhija and ends at Entebbe botanical gardens.
